There was a time when I thought my dream life would begin someday.
Someday when I reached a certain goal.
Someday when life felt less busy.
Someday when I had the perfect home, the perfect routine, the perfect version of myself.
I spent years believing that happiness was waiting for me somewhere in the future.
But somewhere along the way, I realized something that completely changed my perspective.
The life I’ve been dreaming about isn’t something I’m going to stumble into one day.
It’s something I have to intentionally create.
I turned 33 this week, and instead of making a list of resolutions I’ll forget by February, I wanted to create something bigger.
Not bigger in the sense of doing more.
Bigger in the sense of living more intentionally.
I want this year to be the year I stop waiting and start building.
Not building a picture-perfect life that looks good on social media.
Building a life that actually feels good to wake up to every morning.
The kind of life where my routines support me instead of overwhelm me.
Where my home feels peaceful.
Where my health is something I nurture instead of something I fight against.
Where I’m making memories instead of constantly waiting for the next milestone.
When people hear the phrase “dream life,” it’s easy to picture expensive vacations, beautiful houses, dream jobs, or huge accomplishments.
Those things are wonderful.
But that’s not really what this series is about.
For me, my dream life looks surprisingly ordinary.
It’s fresh bread cooling on the counter.
Coffee before the rest of the house wakes up.
Reading on the porch.
Growing vegetables in my garden.
Walking because it clears my mind, not because I have to.
Movie nights with my sister.
Fresh flowers on the table.
Hosting family dinners.
Learning new hobbies.
Creating traditions.
Feeling healthy enough to enjoy the life I’m building.
The older I get, the more I realize that a beautiful life is usually made up of beautifully ordinary days.
And that’s exactly what I want more of.
Over the next year, I’ll be sharing every part of intentionally creating a life I love.
Some weeks we’ll talk about routines.
Other weeks we’ll organize a room in my house.
We’ll build healthier habits together.
Try new hobbies.
Read more books.
Visit local farms, markets, and small businesses.
Cook more from scratch.
Decorate for every season.
Talk honestly about health, healing, confidence, and starting over.
Some posts will be practical.
Others will simply be reflections from whatever I’m learning that week.
Because this isn’t a challenge.
It isn’t a makeover.
It’s simply documenting what it looks like to slowly become the woman I’ve always wanted to be.
This isn’t about perfection.
It isn’t about having everything figured out.
It’s not about aesthetic routines that only last three days.
And it’s definitely not about pretending life is perfect.
If you’ve followed me for a while, you know my story hasn’t been a straight line.
I’ve experienced incredible highs and unexpected setbacks.
I’ve learned what it feels like to lose over 100 pounds, gain weight back because of medication, rebuild healthy habits, and redefine success more than once.
I’ve learned that healing isn’t linear.
Growth isn’t linear either.
So this series isn’t about getting everything right.
It’s about showing up anyway.
One habit.
One choice.
One ordinary day at a time.
This year I’m intentionally focusing on creating…
Not because checking boxes will make me happier.
But because these small choices add up to the kind of life I’ve always imagined.
There’s also something happening behind the scenes that I’m not quite ready to share.
It’s a huge part of this next chapter, and while I can’t tell you about it just yet, I promise you’ll understand why this series matters even more once I can.
For now, I’ll just say this:
I’m incredibly excited for what’s ahead.
If you’ve ever caught yourself saying…
“I’ll start when…”
I hope this series encourages you to start now.
Your dream life probably won’t arrive all at once.
Mine won’t either.
It will be built in tiny decisions.
The books we choose to read.
The meals we cook.
The walks we take.
The people we spend time with.
The routines we keep.
The homes we create.
The ordinary Tuesdays we learn to love.
That’s what this series is about.
Designing a life that feels good to live, not someday, but today.
