February 2021 I was introduced to Best Buddies in Michigan. A non profit organization that offers one-to-one friendship, Integrated Employment, and Leadership development programs for individuals with and without intellectual disabilities and developmental disabilities (IDD).

I reached out to our local leader Kara and expressed interest in helping whichever way I could. After a few meets I decided to join their Advisory board as their Marketing/PR Chair and jumped right in to helping plan their annual spring Friendshipwalk. 

The walk was something we wanted to make a huge success since the year prior they were forced to do the event virtually and were only able to raise a little over $9,000.

After a few ups and downs we were able to plan an event in Brighton Michigan, with over 100 participants, loads of sponsors and more than $30,000 raised for such an amazing cause. 

I have been blessed and honored to be a part of this amazing non profit and can’t wait to share more with you when our upcoming gala comes into play mid November.

We are currently looking for our champions of the year. Those who want to fundraise for Best Buddies and attend our Fall Gala. If you have or express any interest in becoming a champion please feel free to contact me. We’d love to have you.
