It’s HERE!
I am so excited to announce the launch of Maguire’s Purpose.
A non profit in West Michigan focused on helping kids and adults with special needs. We look forward to having you along this new journey with us.
A little back story:
When my little sister Maguire (Maggie) was diagnosed with Autism I made it a point in my life to Advocate for her and those like her. It took my on an incredible journey over the years.
Started with fundraising for the local special needs class rooms to get new equipment to support their students while I was in middle school. In high school I designed and sold t shirts to get a therapy program a new sensory swing for their kids. I volunteered whenever I could and was constantly in contact with local charities.
3 years ago I started working for over 30 charities all over the world. I became a board member to 3 charities in 2019. I then took on the role as these charities marketing expert/director. I created fundraisers, planned over 40 events virtually in 2020, planned over 48 events, fundraisers and galas in 2021. I was thankfully able to attend 2 of those events in person this year and loved every moment of it.
In August of 2021 I had to make a decision, something that had been on my mind for quite some time. Do I wait 10 more years to start this dream or do I take the risk and branch off on my own to start a Non Profit here in West Michigan?
After careful consideration and consulting family, friends and fellow business owners I knew this was the path I needed to take. In October it was finalized and all the paperwork was sent in. There was no turning back now!
As the Founder and President of Maguire’s Purpose I knew I wanted those closest to me to be involved. It’s founded by a family and it was only fitting to have the other board of directors be my family.
Our Vice President is my younger brother Tanner (Pictured Above). He was game from day 1 and has supported me on every project, even being my assistant for the past 3 years when I needed the help.
Our Treasurer is my Dad Sherman Robbins. He is a business man and the one I have always looked up to when it came to starting a business.
Our Secretary is our Aunt Renae Port. She has always been a big sister to me and I knew I needed someone who was detailed oriented and she was the perfect fit. Renae also has a 16 year old son, Elliot who also has Autism. So as a parent of a child with Autism she is an advocate too.
Everyone in the Robbins family has a role and they are just as much apart of the everyday and future of this non profit. I am so thankful for every single one of them.
Our Advisory Board is made up of amazing members of the West Michigan community. They will serve as advisors to our non profit within the next year. They will help advocate, fundraise and plan with us as we take on this new challenge.
