Introducing: Our New Series Eating Seasonally in West Michigan 🌿

Seasonal

There’s something special about living in West Michigan. We get to experience all four seasons in their fullest—fresh springs, sunny summers, crisp autumns, and cozy winters. Each season brings its own flavors, and one of my favorite ways to slow down and connect with this rhythm is through seasonal eating.

This year, I’m starting a new monthly series: Eating Seasonally in West Michigan. Each month, I’ll share what’s fresh and local, what you can find at farmers’ markets (or in your own garden), and how to enjoy these ingredients in simple, cozy, and delicious ways.

Why seasonal eating?

  • Better flavor: Food picked at its peak just tastes better.
  • Healthier & fresher: Produce is more nutrient-dense when eaten in season.
  • Budget-friendly: Seasonal, local produce is often more affordable.
  • Sustainable: Eating closer to the land reduces waste and supports local farmers.
  • Rooted living: It’s a slower, more intentional way to live and cook.

You can expect each post to include:

  • A list of what’s in season that month here in West Michigan 🌱
  • Tips for cooking and preserving those ingredients 🍴
  • Cozy kitchen inspiration for seasonal meals and desserts 🥘🍎

✨ My hope is that this series inspires you to savor what’s fresh, eat more intentionally, and maybe even romanticize your own kitchen a little bit more.

Stay tuned for our first seasonal post, In January, is coming soon!
